Exciting Opportunity for the Fly Fishing Enthusiast

The club is fortunate to be located high on the headwaters area in Caledon, Ontario. Natural springs provide continuous cold fresh water to the club’s 4 large ponds and fish hatchery creating an exciting opportunity for the fly fishing enthusiast.

Each pond is outfitted with several docks and skiffs to chase that elusive trout.

The property provides a chance to enjoy nature with maintained trails that meander throughout the property.

River Fishing

Some of the best wild river fly fishing in Southern Ontario is located right on our Club property! Our section of the Credit River predominantly holds Wild Brown and Brook Trout, but Club Members have caught several small-stocked Atlantic salmon. It is a very scenic river with very ‘fishy’ runs and pools.
The entrance to the Club’s river access is beside 16579 McLaren Road. There is room for two cars in front of a padlocked wire gate. To reach the river, walk around the gate and take the maintained path—you will see the Club’s no trespassing sign.

The river is a short walk of about 250 metres from the gate. It can be muddy in early spring in low spots. The path is crossed by other paths maintained by our neighbours. Near the river, you will come to a “Y” intersection—veer left to reach the up-stream access point to the river. Here you will see a foot bridge, which is not on our property. From here you can fish downstream. If you veer right, you will come across smaller paths which offer access to points downstream. The downstream boundary is marked by a survey stake on the south bank.

Hatchery

The club property has a small hatchery facility consisting of three runways, two indoor tanks, two rearing troughs and one grow pond. We are only producing Brook trout at the club property. Starting with eggs, hatching and rearing to full adults. Egg to adult Brook trout is approximately a 4 year process.
